Everest Three Pass Trek/ Everest High Pass – 19 Days

Wandering in the foothills of World’s highest mountain is a blessing it itself. Trek in the region of region of Majestic Everest is the best trekking experience in the earth. And combined Everest three pass trek in the region, it’s a never ending thrill and adventure.

We will complete a loop from Lukla to Dingboche, Chhukung, Kongma La, and Lobuche, before climbing to the Base camp. Further trek to Kala Patthar, Gokyo Ri by crossing the Cho La pass would be your first challenge during the trek. Then, you will climb over Renjo La (5,446m) to walk back to Namche Bazaar.

During the trek, you can interact with the local and learn about the unique lifestyle of Sherpa. As you pass through Sagarmatha National Park, you can encounter wild Himalayan animals such as Himalayan Thar, Snow Leopard, Red panda and so on. You get to walk between the beautiful Rhododendron forest that blooms all pink and red.

Itinerary Everest Three Pass trek

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m):

You Everest three pass starts as you step in Nepal. Upon your landing at Tribhuwan international airport, our representative will Welcome your. Then, you will transfer to the hotel in a private Car. During the short drive, you can enjoy the view of kathmandu City. For the evening, you can enjoy a welcome dinner that constitute of excellent Nepalese cuisine.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding; (2,651m/8,700ft)  3-4 hour trek

After breakfast in the morning, we will drive back to the International Airport. As per the schedule, we shall fly to Lukla. Lukla airport is one of the most dangerous and thrilling airport in the world. Once yhou land, you are already 2,860 m above sea level. From Lukla, the views of majestic mountains are breathtaking. Here, we will need to do some preparation before starting the trek. Everest three passes loop begins from here.

Today, we will trek for about four hours towards Phakding. An hour’s descent from Lukla takes us to Chaurikharka village where we get a glimpse of Mt. Khumbila. Then, we further trek towards the Dudh Kosi Ghat (2,530m) before crashing at Phakding.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar: (3,438m/11,280 ft)  5-6 hour trek

After the delicious breakfast in the lap of Himalayas, we start to trek. The trail initially leads us to the suspension bridge. Then after, we will climb to the Monju, the starting point of Sagarmatha National Park. After completing the legal formalities, we get to enter the park. First, we descend to the river where we get to cross another suspension bridge. We continue to walk towards the high Hilary Bridge and finally to Namche Bazzar. On the trial, we shall enjoy the exotic views of majestic Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and Mt. Kusum.

Day 4:  Rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar

This is our fun day during Everest three pass. Namche Bazzar is the biggest settlement in the region. It is the center of classic Tibet trade route. Today, we will explore this historical market and let out body acclimatize to the higher temperature.

Early morning, we can enjoy the stunning sunshine views with the great Himalayas in the background. During the day, we can explore the Museum in Namche Bazaar. We can also visit the nearby located villages as Khumbu and Kongde village that is located. If you wish to, we can also climb the nearby peaks for the undisturbed views. Or, we can just explore the Namche Bazzar where you can buy some essentials for the trek. You can visit National Park head office, and a monastery as per your interest.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche: (3,870m/12,694ft)  6-7 hour trek

After a rest for the day, we are all rejuvenated for the trek. Today’s walk is accompanied by the beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas. Initially, we begin with a one and half hour of climb. After some rest, we will descend an hour to Riverside. As we will be walking in the premises of Sagarmatha National  park, we might witness some exotic flora and fauna of the region.

After lunch, we can further ascend to climb the top of Tengboche camp. Tengboche has the biggest monastery of the region. You can visit the monastery in the morning from 5 to 7 am or in the evening 5 to 7 pm. You can see the monks making prayer.

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche: (4,360 m/14,300 ft)  5-6 hour trek

After a delicious breakfast in the lodge, our trek begins. Initially, it’s an relaxing walk to the first village of Pangboche (3970m). After some rest in Pangboche, we will continue to Somare (4090m). Most likely, we will enjoy our lunch here.

The path continues ascending to Imja Valley. Further climb leads us to Lobuche River and finally to Dingboche. The village of Dingboche is a beautiful with the windy settlement that is overlooked by Buddhist shrine and colorful prayer flags. The village is also known as the ‘summer valley’.

Day 07: Trek from Dingboche to Chukhung (4750m), climb Chukhung Ri (5,546m): 6-7 hours

We will trek slowly from the Dingboche village towards Chhukung. Initally, we will pass through stone-walled fields before crossing Imja Khola. The trail then leads us to Bibre. Then after, it’s 30 minutes of walk to Chukhung.

After some rest and enjoying our lunch, we trek towards Chukhung Ri. This can be a tough walk, but the views from the top are very rewarding. You can overlook the fantastic views of Amphu Labcha peaks, Island peak and Ama Dablam. Then after, we shall descend to Chukhung where we will spend our night. It’s a beautiful village where we can witness the unique Shepra Culture and enjoy the magnificent mountain views.

Day 8:   Rest and acclimatization day in Chukhung

Since we are already 4750m above sea level, our body needs some acclimatization. And no place could be better than Chukhung for the purpose. Warly morning, you  can enjoy the most beautiful sunrise view. For the day, we can explore the nearby areas. You can interact with local and learn their lifestyle. Although it’s a rest day, you should keep your body and mind active.

Day 9: Trek from Chhukung to Lobuche (4,970m) via Kongma la 6-7 hour trek

Our trek begins early in the morning. Today is a tough a long trekking day where we will climb Kongma La (5535m). This is our second peak among the three major peaks during the trek. Steep walk of four to five hours from the Chhukung takes us to Kongma La (5535m). The key is to walk slow and steady as we enjoy the beautiful surrounding. From the top, we can witness the panoramic views of mount Lhotse, Ama-Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, Kangtega Peaks, and so on.

After some rest, we will descend to cross the glacier trail. Finally we will crash to Lobuche. Tonight, we can celebrate with an adventure walk day.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) and Everest Base Camp– 8-9 hour trek

Ahead is the most important day of the trek. Early morning, we walk along the glacier trail. In the trail, you might face some hard times in catching the breath since the level of oxygen is low. Few hours of trek takes us to the settlement of Gorakshep. Upon the arriving to Gorakshep, we will take some rest. After lunch, our trek towards Everest base camp (5364m) commences.

Two hours of trek from Gorakshep takes us to the base camp of Everest. You can spend the evening to capture the beauty of Everest Base camp. After making the life time memories on the base camp, we will climb down to Gorak Shep. You can celebrate the moment with a delicious dinner. Gorakshep (5180m) is the highest sleeping place during the trek.

Day 11: Trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar and Lobuche:(4940 m)   8-9 hour trek

This is another beautiful day of the trek when you get to climb to Kala Patthar. The trek begins early in the morning so that we can enjoy the beautiful sunrise view. Kala Patthar is ideally the most prodigious view point of Mount Everest. The sunrise views of Everest, Nuptse and Changts is stunning from Kala Patthar. This is the highest point of our trek.

About an hour of descend takes us to Dzongla (4830m) where we can enjoy our lunch. Other four hours of trek takes us to Lobuche. During the trail, we pass along the forest of Himlayan flora. The views of the while peaks accompany us throughout the trek.

Day 12: Trek from Lobuche to Dzong Lha: (4,830m) 3-4 hour trek

Today’s trek is quite easy as we descend through the classic Everest region trail. From Lobuche, we will begin the  walk after breakfast. We walk slowly during Dzong Lha. During the trail, the magnificent view of the Himalayas and the exotic bio-diversity of Sagarmatha National Park will accompany you. The trail is mostly downhill and easy. We can spend the evening exploring the village and interacting with the locals.

Day 13: Trek from Dzong Lha to Cho la and to Gokyo: (4,700m)  7-8 hour trek

Today we will trek to Gokyo (4760m) which is the beautiful valley in the Everest region. But before that, we need to trek to Cho La. It’s a long climb along the steep path. But once we reach the top, the view is very rewarding. Then after, the trail continues to Thagak. Also known as Dragnag, Thagak is suited on the Ngozumpa Glacier. This is Nepal’s longest glacier i.e 36km long.

Afterwards, our trail joins the trail leading to Gokyo Lake valley. We will ascend for couple of hours before crashing in Gokyo valley.

Day 14: Explore Gokyo Fifth Lake & Gokyo Ri: (5,357m/17,570 ft)   4-5 hours trek

This is the beautiful day of the trek where we get to explore the beauty of different lakes in Gokyo valley. Early in the morning, we ascend to Gokyo Ri at 5380m. The view from the top is very pleasing. After some rest and beautiful capture, we walk down to our lodge. After lunch, we will hike to Gokyo 5th lakes. This is a gentle walk to the top that offers awesome view of Everest and other huge glacier. 5th lake is the biggest in the Gokyo region. One can also witness the beautiful Cho Oyo (8201 meters), Lhotse (8516 meters), and Makalu (8485 meters) from the top.

Day 15: trek from Gokyo to Renjo La to Marulung (4,210 m)  5-6 hour trek

Early morning after breakfast, we will bring the trek as we ascend to the top of Renjo La pass (5360m). Today we cross our last pass and most beautiful pass among Everest three pass. This is about 4 hrs of walk along the steep trail. But once we reach the top, we can enjoy the awesome views of mountain peaks. The pass is very close to the Tibet borderline.

After some rest, we will begin to descend to Marlung (4300m). Three to four hours of downward walk is easy and rewarding. In the trail, we might encounter some Tibetan traders who travel by carrying loads of goods on their caravans and yaks. A steep descent from the Renjo La pass top takes us to Lungdhen and then finally to Marulung. We can sense the awesome feel of victory once the trek is completed.

Day 16: Trek from Marulung to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) 5-6 hours trek

From this day, all we do is ascend to the lower altitude. So the trek gets quite easier and fun. Initially, we trek down to a typical village of Thame) and Thamo village. We can have some rest and enjoy our lunch in Thame village.

Thame, is a famous town for the magnificent views of snow-capped mountains. Also, you can explore the Thame Monastery which overlooks the valley. Every year, around Mid-May this village celebrates Mani Rimdu festival.

Afterwards, the gentle descending trail takes us to Namche bazaar. Getting back to the Namche Bazzar, you will feel like getting back home. This place has a very nice hotel for the overnight stay. Also, you can enjoy some delicious bakery and enjoy a hot shower after many days.

Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar to Lukla ( 2810m)- 6-7 hours trek

From Namche, we will trace the path same path downwards. Waving a final good bye to the Everest, we will trek towards Lukla. We will pass through the forest of Oak and Rhododendron. If it’s the month of Spring, the pink and red blooms will make our trek even more prodigious.

As we trek down, we will cross Hillary Suspension Bridge. Further trek takes us to Lukla. Once we arrive in Lukla, you will enjoy the time to relax, and celebrate the sucess of your trek.

Day 18: Lukla – Kathmandu

Back to capital, our Everest three pass comes to the end. Again, we are bestowed with an adventure to fly across one of the most dangerous airport in the world. The flight is usually scheduled early in the morning. But there might be some delay due to the extreme weather condition of the Himalayas.

Once we reach the airport in Kathmandu, we will drive back to the hotel. We can spend rest of the day by exploring the Kathmandu valley or simply shopping around the Thamel. Thamel has some great collection of classic Nepalese handicraft that you can carry back home for gift or memories.

For the night, we can together enjoy the farewell dinner in the hotel. It’s time to remember and celebrate our journey together.

Day 19: Fly back home

This is the final day of our trek. As per your flight schedule, we will drive you back to the airport. We will drive you to the airport two hours before the scheduled flight time.
